Early Childhood Foundations (3 - 5)

Our Early Childhood Foundations program serves children ages 3 to 5 in a mixed-age Montessori learning environment, where younger children learn alongside older peers in a calm and structured setting.

This program focuses on building early academic readiness through hands-on Montessori materials and purposeful activities that support the development of pre-reading, pre-writing, and early math skills. Children engage in foundational learning experiences that strengthen concentration, independence, and the ability to complete tasks with increasing confidence and focus. Program Details

The Early Childhood Foundations program follows a gentle Montessori-inspired rhythm designed to support early academic readiness, independence, and joyful learning through hands-on exploration and purposeful activity.

🌿 Morning Circle (8:30 – 8:45 AM)

Children begin the day by gathering together for a warm and welcoming morning circle.

This time includes:

  • opening prayer

  • greetings and community connection

  • sharing time

  • Bible story read aloud by the teacher

  • introduction to the day’s learning rhythm

This opening circle helps children transition into the classroom environment with calmness, connection, and readiness for learning.

📚 Montessori Work Block (8:45 – 10:45 AM)

Children engage in a focused Montessori work cycle using hands-on materials designed to build early academic foundations.

During this time, children may explore:

  • early literacy (letters, sounds, pre-reading skills)

  • early math concepts (counting, number sense, patterns)

  • practical life activities (pouring, sorting, care of environment)

  • sensorial materials that support focus and concentration

  • Children are guided to choose meaningful work, complete activities at their own pace, and build independence through repetition and practice.

🌤 Outdoor Montessori Work Period (10:45 – 11:15 AM)

Children transition outdoors for movement, fresh air, and continued Montessori work in an expanded environment.

During this time, children:

  • independently select and engage in outdoor activities or materials

  • practice carrying, using, and returning materials with care and responsibility

  • complete simple work cycles from start to finish with focus and intention

  • engage in cooperative play and positive peer interaction

  • practice turn-taking, communication, and social problem-solving

  • participate in caring for and restoring the outdoor environment after use

This outdoor period supports gross motor development, independence, social responsibility, and the ability to maintain order, focus, and respect for materials beyond the indoor classroom.

🌿 Closing Circle (11:15 – 11:25 AM)

The day ends with a calm closing circle where children:

  • reflect on their morning experiences

  • share brief thoughts or observations

  • review Bible story

  • participate in closing prayer

  • prepare for dismissal

This short routine supports emotional closure, gratitude, and a smooth transition out of the learning environment.
