Progress and Growth

At our academy, we believe that consistent progress monitoring is essential for both children and parents. Tracking growth allows parents to see the development of their child’s skills, interests, and confidence over time, while giving teachers the insight needed to tailor learning experiences. Progress monitoring is completed on a regular basis and is shared in meaningful ways to keep families fully engaged in their child’s journey.

Weekly Updates:

  • Every other Friday, parents receive a message with photos and notes highlighting the activities their child engaged in that week.

  • Teacher shares observations on skills practiced, progress made, and areas of growth.

  • Parents are encouraged to ask questions or provide feedback at any time during the week.

Quarterly Progress Reports:

  • At the end of each three-month quarter, a parent-teacher conference is held to discuss weekly notes and the child’s overall growth.

  • A comprehensive progress report is provided, including teacher reflections, recommendations, and next steps for continued learning.

  • Plans for the next quarter are collaboratively made, incorporating both school and parent goals for the child’s development.

  • Parents have ample opportunity to ask questions and share insights during the meeting.

Children’s Memory Books:

  • Throughout each week and quarter, children create progress scrapbooks called Memory Books that track their learning and accomplishments.

  • Photos of completed activities are cut and pasted onto scrapbook pages, with options to decorate, fostering reflection and pride in their work.

  • Children can look back on these scrapbooks to see all the skills they practiced and the joy of learning they experienced.

  • These scrapbooks are treasured keepsakes, given to children at the conclusion of their time in the program—serving as a lasting reminder of the growth, creativity, and meaningful memories they have made.

By combining weekly updates, quarterly progress reports, and personal scrapbooks, our approach ensures that both parents and children are actively involved in celebrating achievements, reflecting on growth, and planning for the next steps in learning. These practices make every child’s journey visible, valued, and memorable.
